I'm going to be honest here...not f***ing once did I realize this until someone said it in a comment on YouTube. Superman just flies backwards through time he doesn't rotate the planet the other way and make time go backwards. Mind. Blown. It is shot pretty stupidly though guess that's why people have been confuse for years. Still though if you haven't realized already, makes you feel pretty f***ing stupid... |

I don't get why I and maaaaany others have never realized, he's been able to fly faster than time for ages now. Can we really just blame how it was shot? To be fair what else could they do... I think it's probably the way he's shown going around the planet(Gotenks style) if that was taken out it would seem a lot less like he was literally reversing the rotation. |

Yeah I always got the impression he was just reversing the rotation. Are you sure you trust a "YouTube comment" though? Lol some guy on YouTube saying it isn't exactly good proof |

Here's a fun fact about that. That effect wasn't supposed to appear until the second film in Richard Donner's version after the events with Zod. Superman would've actually killed Zod and his comrades, then turn back time. However, the studio liked that effect so much, they talked him into putting it in the first movie. Also, Donner was filming both movies back to back, and had quite a lot done before the studio replaced him. |

you know one does not simply fly faster than time, simply because time doesnt fly at all. Even if superman would be FTL, he could only "slow down" his current time which i mean he d feel 1 millisecond what it is less than 1 hour in the regular timeline. According to todays science moving with the speed of light does not make the general time flowing backwards It is some random DC bulls***. But fine anyway |

Well it's not that they have evidence it's just that's what the movie was meant to convey but didn't do so very well.
Well yeah, today's science we don't really know what happens when you go FTL. IIRC we don't even know if anything can go FTL but it's not like we're incredibly powerful beings who can fly ourselves. |

one thing is certain, math and physics indicates time will not turn backwards just by solely using higher speed.....it does slow down however |

People still have doubts on this crap? OF COURSE HE WENT BACK IN TIME! How long did it take you guys to figure it out?! |

Dude, he flies around the planet, and it start spinning backwards........then he flys the otherway to correct the rotation, of course thats what he's doing. It doesn't make sense really, (if the earth span the other way...time wouldn't go backwards), but that's physically what he's doing, or else they'd do some other mental effect were he personally travels back in time. |

In the old days Supes(and other superheroes) just need to go really fast on a straight line to travel through time and space at instantaneous speeds. Even the PowerPuff Girls did it once.

Superman in the golden age of comic books was like a cartoon character. He could do whatever the hell he pleased. |

If this is true why doesn't he go back in time to save Batman or Lois when she dies? |
